Home for the holidays…

And every other day of the year. Let’s make sure they have meals today!

2021 Canyon County Festival of Trees

November 26th – 29th

Making meals instead of trees

This year the Canyon County Festival of Trees mission to support and deliver meals to home-bound seniors in the area is more important than ever. Our event has been reimagined for the safety of our community, partners and friends that make this season of giving possible. We’re not making trees, but with your help, we can make a difference in the lives of home-bound seniors.

2021 Canyon County Festival of Trees

The gift that gives the whole year

The Caldwell and Nampa Meals on Wheels programs help seniors who may experience a decline in mobility or health and cannot prepare a hot meal for themselves. Many recipients have no family available and look forward to the only face they will see throughout the day when their meal is delivered by one of our volunteers. Our community population has exploded, and there has never been more of a need for funding for these meals. Thank you for your generosity!

FEATURE

Delores

It’s Meals on Wheels recipients like Delores that need your support. Delores is a homebound senior in her 90’s. She has only 10 percent vision and isn’t able to do a lot on her own. But with the help of our local Meals on Wheels programs through the Caldwell Meals on Wheels and the Saint Alphonsus Meals on Wheels Programs and the support of many volunteers in our community, Delores gets the help she needs and the vital nutrition to keep her going.

Volunteers bring it home

Meals on Wheels volunteers are the heart and soul of the program; without their time and effort, the program wouldn’t exist. What the Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver is genuinely so much more than just a warm meal.

Support from our community

From the directors of Caldwell Meals on Wheels and Saint Alphonsus Meals on Wheels

“Donations are so important to Caldwell Meals on Wheels right now! With no end in sight for this pandemic, the need continues to grow. The number of clients we are serving has increased 40% from the same time last year. We need the support now more than ever, and without the funding from the Festival, donations are critical to making sure no senior goes hungry!”

Julie Warwick

Caldwell Meals on Wheels Program Coordinator

“Meals on Wheels supports the independence and nutrition needs of homebound seniors by addressing two large issues facing our aging population, hunger and social isolation. Providing hot meals and daily contact with a caring volunteer, MOW makes it possible for seniors to stay in their homes while boosting health and well-being. Your support makes a huge difference in our mission, which is increasingly important during this pandemic. ”

Tonia Bradshaw

Meals on Wheels Coordinator, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa
